Welcome to Auto-Est.com.  The purpose of this site is to create a place that anyone in the Collision Repair industry who is working to improve their estimates can come to find helpful resources and information.  Whether you're just getting started or have been writing estimates for 20+ years we hope you can find something helpful here. 

My name is Brian Greer and I have been in the collision repair industry since 2000.  I began as a body technician apprentice and have worked as a body tech, painter, estimator, and shop manager.  The majority of my experience has been in the office writing estimates.  I have worked with multiple insurance companies as DRP as well as non-DRP.  One of the biggest hurdles we have to face as the repairer is when we need to complete an aspect of the repair to keep the vehicle safe and the insurer tells us "no one else is charging for that" or worse "no one else is doing that".    That's why I have decided to create www.auto-est.com. I want this to be a place that you can come and find useful information, websites, position statements, and more.  I invite anyone who has found themselves here to email me with their own ideas and experiences so that I can constantly keep improving the information here.
